Background:

Joseph Claeys is a certified school psychologist with experience working with children in many different settings. He has worked as a Court Appointed Special Advocate helping children that were adjudicated Child in Need of Care. He has worked in community mental health clinic as a child case manager helping parents and children that were experiencing mental health issues, and he has taught children that were diagnosed with emotional issues in a BD/ED classroom.

While working for a local clinical psychologist Joe has evaluated adults that were incarcerated, and adolescents and children that were residents at Charter Hospital. Currently he is employed as a school psychologist and is responsible for providing consultation and evaluation services to three schools with children in grades K-8. Joe uses the Woodcock-Johnson® III as his primary assessment tool and uses CHC theory to guide interpretation. Joe will tailor his presentations to the unique needs of his audience and will integrate recent research and different assessment and interpretation perspectives.
