Training Materials
IDA, a comprehensive assessment with unique features, assesses children in the context of their health status and family-social environment. The IDA Procedures create a framework for integrating information from multiple sources with parents as team members in the assessment process. TheIDA Foundations and Study Guide and the IDA Administration Manual are designed for assessment professionals to learn the IDA. The IDA Readings provide relevant family, health and developmental information for the context in which the IDA is administered.
The IDA training materials are designed for an IDA-trained professional to use to train other personnel. The materials consist of a Leader’s Guide and three videos. The IDA Foundations and Study Guide and the IDA Administration Manual are required also. These materials are not meant to be a “self-study course.” The Leader’s Guide outlines leader qualifications and formats for teaching IDA. The videotapes demonstrate administration of the Provence Profile and help communicate the tone and style of the assessment process.
The IDA Institute, located in Hartford Connecticut, offers on-site and online training to help early childhood professionals to learn and teach the IDA.
