The Diagnostic Assessments of Reading assesses students’ relative strengths and weaknesses in key areas of student learning in reading. Teachers use DAR to identify areas in which struggling readers need help.

DAR comes in a complete, multilevel format. It features simultaneous administration and scoring, providing immediate feedback about each student’s strengths and weakness in the components of reading. This allows teachers to more quickly apply the results to instructional strategies to improve student skills.
The DAR is ideal for identifying the strengths and weaknesses of a wide range of readers. From Kindergarteners through adult learners, the DAR pinpoints areas in which students are in need of further reading instruction.
