Type: Two distinct, co-normed cognitive and achievement batteries
Purpose: Provides a comprehensive system for measuring general intellectual ability (including bilingual and low verbal), specific cognitive abilities, scholastic aptitude, oral language, and academic achievement.
Ages: 2 to 90+ years
Times: Varies, about 5–10 minutes per test; Cognitive Standard 7 tests (35–45 minutes); Achievement Standard 11 tests (55–65 minutes); Diagnostic Supplement supplies an additional 11 cognitive tests (55–65 minutes)

Background:

Dr. Nahari completed her education at Fordham University where she obtained the Professional Diploma in Bilingual School Psychology in 1988 and her Ph.D. in 1994. For the last 10 years, she has provided in-service for guidance counselors, child study teams, and teachers working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) students. In addition, she coordinated several Title VII federal grants directed at increasing the biliteracy and English language skills for English Language Learners. For three years she was the Assistant Director of the Bilingual Educational and Psychological Assessment Support Center, under the auspices of the Office of Vocational Education Services fro Individuals with Disabilities (VESID). Her publications include articles on the Gifted and Talented Diverse Students, Conducting Cross-Cultural Consultation with Parents of Students with Severe Disabilities and presently the Handbook of Multicultural School Psychology, as editor an author (in press). Dr. Nahari is also adjunct faculty in the Graduate School Psychology program at Queens College/CUNY.

In 2004 Dr. Nahari received the Fordham University Graduate School of Education "Alumni of the Year" Award, and in 1992 she received the Bilingual Support Personnel of the Year Award of the New York State Association for Bilingual Education. Her research interests are early childhood biliteracy, CLD gifted and talented, and parental involvement.
